A Green Church
St Gregory’s is a ‘green’ Church! At St. Gregory’s care for the Earth is an integral part of our faith journey. We believe that caring for the environment is a sacred responsibility. We believe people grow spiritually through a strong relationship with the earth. We also believe that our consumption habits have an effect on the world and that we can help heal and restore the earth when we make conscious efforts to be ‘green.’ We believe that all people deserve a healthy environment, regardless of their race or income. We are committed to fighting environmental injustice. Our ministry includes outdoor activities such as clean up days, hikes; theologically-based environmentally themed education for our all members. A celebration of Creation Season as part of our liturgy. Green “best practices” approach to our buildings and grounds. We offer an education site for storm water management, featuring lovely rain gardens and our public Community Garden also features pesticide-free practices and passive water collection systems, and bee hives.
Now on site we have a collection bin for Big Brothers and Big Sisters for clothing, shoes, and linens
