Advent Wreath-making: we begin the church year by marking the Sundays in Advent by making a special wreath to take home. The workshop is on the last Saturday in November.
Christmas Party: the congregation gathers to celebrate with food, fun and singing! We collect toys for needy children and sweatshirts for homeless men, all while enjoying a time of fellowship and good food.
“Cookies & Crèches” Rev. Susan Sica’s collection of over 200 miniature nativity sets from all over the world and cookies for sale. Held the second weekend in December at the Historic Smith-Baldwin House on Beverwyck Rd.
Children’s Christmas Pageant: Parish children re-enact the story of Jesus’ birth at the Family worship service on Christmas Eve.
Community Garden: Enjoy the fruits of the earth, plant and harvest your own garden. The planting season begins with a Rogation Service in May where seeds and soil is blessed.
Start-Up Sunday: Held the second Sunday of September. Church school reconvenes after the summer holiday, the choir returns and the parishioners get back to business! Children bring their backpacks to be blessed.
Feast of Saint Francis “Blessing of the Animals” Service: This service is held on the first Sunday in October, we support the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter by collecting dog and cat food and other items for them.
Monthly or Ongoing Events Include: pot luck suppers, discussion groups, Bible study, yoga classes, etc.
Films for Thought: features documentaries followed by discussion on social issues including the environment, homelessness, hunger and addiction. Watching the film is followed by guided discussion and presentations by experts in their fields.
Ecumenical Events: we participate in several events with other communities of faith including the Good Friday Cross walk, support to homeless families, lectures, etc.
